Sr. Account Receivable Specialist

Our Accounting Team is growing! We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to develop and enhance their accounting knowledge and experience in the insurance industry. As a Sr. Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will work with hundreds of independent insurance brokers and agents across the United States.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take proactive steps to ensure that payment is received by the invoice due date.
- Follow up on aging receivables and review the Outstanding Balance Report weekly.
- Process check deposits, incoming payments, refunds and commissions.
- Assist with account reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting.
- Drive an exceptional customer experience with every interaction via phone and emails.
- Handling customer and broker service inquiries through to resolution.
- Ad hoc projects and other duties assigned by management.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 year's experience working in a general accounting or accounts receivable role.
- Associate's degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel focused) and accounting software’s.
- Adaptability/flexibility to use multiple computer operating systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including phone skills
- Interpersonal skills both in working in team environment and working with customers.
- Natural curiosity and desire for problem identification and resolution.
- Sense of urgency in issue resolution and attention to detail.
- Insurance industry experience is extra bonus points.
LOCATION
- This role is hybrid – NYC. In-office Tuesday/Thursday
COMPENSATION & PERKS
- $65,000 - $75,000 base salary + yearly bonus. Salary commensurate with knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.
