We are looking for a dynamic, team oriented, hands-on Software Engineer with technical business analyst skills to join our application development team. You will be responsible for analyzing, configuration, coding and testing on projects, enhancement and maintenance of the portfolio of insurance applications.  


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, test and implement software and applications
  • Manage assigned workload including individual projects, assigned activities on larger projects and enhancement/support tickets
  • Develop / enhance core application, MGA Systems, that supports policy, billing and claims functions
  • Application admin role that is responsible for application configuration, design forms with dynamic data, document templates, stored procedures to manage the application configuration tables
  • Support, troubleshoot and maintain software applications
  • Participate in design and code reviews
  • Work with business users to clarify and understand requirements
  • Develop and maintain documentation
 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree
  • 3+ years of .NET development experience. 
  • 3+ years working with a Policy Administration System (Duck Creek, Guidewire, MGA Systems, Concept One) 
  • Good working knowledge of integration and web services (SOAP, WSDL, Windows Communication Foundation, REST).  
  • A solid understanding of computing environment concepts (MVC, object-oriented methodologies, databases, etc.)  
  • Experience in SDLC (Waterfall and Agile techniques) with technical BA experience
  • Possess excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on verbal and written communication. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.     
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment. 
  • Works well in dynamic team environment and has a positive attitude. 

PREFERRED SKILLS
  • ASP.NET, C# and SQL Server. 
  • 2+ years’ experience in relational database including knowledge of SQL, stored procedures.  
  • 1+ years of experience in Vertafore’s MGA system (.Net, SQL application) or similar applications like MGA Systems, Concept One
  • Skills and experience using data structures (XML, JSON) 
  • Knowledge and experience of Insurance Company systems and processes

LOCATION
  • This is a remote US based position.

COMPENSATION AND PERKS
  • $100,000 - $120,000 base salary plus yearly cash bonus. Salary commensurate with knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location
