The Senior Data Analyst plays a critical role in advancing enterprise-wide data governance initiatives by ensuring data is accurate, consistent, and trustworthy. This role involves close collaboration with business and technical stakeholders to define and implement effective data governance practices. You will be responsible for measuring and improving data quality dimensions such as accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability.

Leveraging a deep understanding of the data ecosystem, business processes, and decision-making frameworks, you will conduct root cause analyses to identify and resolve data quality issues. You will also consult with business partners to develop, implement, and document data management policies, metadata standards, and best practices that support enterprise data governance objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the management of data availability, usability, integrity, security, and privacy
  • Implement and maintain processes to ensure data quality for business use
  • Conduct moderately complex data profiling and analysis; communicate findings to support data quality initiatives
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define and maintain data quality requirements and specifications
  • Document metadata, data lineage, and transformation rules to support key program deliverables
  • Ensure adherence to naming conventions, definitions, and data standards in collaboration with business users
  • Contribute to the development of data models, including entity design and population
  • Perform testing and validation of data management requirements and capabilities
  • Develop detailed test strategies and test plans
  • Conduct root cause analysis and resolve moderately complex business data issues
  • Utilize ETL/data integration tools, data platforms, and cloud technologies to support data initiatives
  • Understand and apply metadata management practices, including lineage and cataloging
  • Collaborate effectively with business partners to align priorities and project goals
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills in a dynamic environment
  • Exhibit a solid understanding of data models, relationships, lineage, and business rules
  • May involve leading small to medium-sized teams on a project or initiative basis

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field; or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years) in data analytics, data governance, or data management
  • Experience working with data in the Property & Casualty insurance industry, including familiarity with policy, claims, underwriting, and regulatory data
  • Proficiency with data profiling, data quality tools, and ETL processes
  • Heavy experience with data visualization and reporting tools, Power BI is required
  • Experience with data platforms (e.g., SQL Server, Snowflake, Oracle) and cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Ability to write and interpret complex SQL queries
  • Familiarity with metadata management, data lineage, and data cataloging tools
  • Understanding of data modeling concepts (e.g., entity-relationship modeling, dimensional modeling)
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to data accuracy and integrity
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve data quality issues
  • Understanding of insurance data domains such as policy administration, claims processing, and regulatory reporting
  • Ability to translate business requirements into data specifications and quality rules

COMPENSATION AND PERKS
  • $120,000 to $150,000 base salary plus bonus
  • Summer Fridays (Leave at 2:00PM all Fridays from Memorial Day to Labor Day)
